Stu Air is an ultra-runner from Wilmslow in the UK, not the normal habitat for a mountain endurance athlete. Since discovering his love of running in the French Alps Stu has had to be creative in his approach to training in order to be able to compete on the world stage. 2013 was a break-through year for this 25 year old in his first competitive forays into the world or ultra-distance running. In this video Stu shares his background, his love of running and showcases some of the stunning scenery that the Peak District holds for runners and outdoor enthusiasts which is just a stone's throw from urban hubs Manchester and Sheffield in the north of England.
The second edition of the Matterhorn Ultraks Trail in Zermatt took place this saturday. Almost 1’400 participants entered one of the four races «16K», «30K», «46K» and «2VK». The Moroccan Zaïd Ait Malek came out on top of the longest distance «46K», which is part of the Skyrunner® World Series. Stevie Kremer (US) entered the finish line first among the women.
