Kolumbijec Esteban Chaves z ORICA-GreenEDGE zazářil senzační jízdou, kterou si získal vítězství ve 14. etapě Giro d’Italia. V následující 15. etapě - horské časovce - podal také skvělý výkon, který mu dopomohl ke vzestupu v celkové klasifikaci ze třetího místa na druhé.
For the first time this season a rider beats Herlings in a MX2 race, and of course it was Dylan Ferrandis who was the first to defeat the leader of the series. Winner of the first heat, Ferrandis claimed his second podium in a row in Arco di Trento (Italy) with another second place overall.
