Annabel Luxford Wins IM 70.3 Western Sydney

Luxford exited the Pacific Ocean alongside eventual podium finisher Natalie Van Coevorden. The duo increased the gap to the competition further on the bike, staying together until the 45k mark. After that, Luxford went on solo and racked her bike after 2:14.35h posting the fastest bike split in the women's field. Out on the run, Luxford defended her lead with ease to cross the finish line in first with an advantage of 6 minutes over second place finisher Kiralee Seidel. "It's never easy to defend a title," Luxford said after the race. "I'm glad I could make it happen, the crowd was incredible today!" Luxford is setting her eyes on IM 70.3 Ballarat now which takes place in 2 weeks time.
