"It ain't over, till it's over!" the riders of Team IAM Cycling and especially Roger Kluge must have said to themselves when the owner Michel Théthaz announced during the last rest day of the Giro d'Italia that the he will cease sponsorship of the team after the 2016 season. Only two days later, German track specialist Kluge, showed his class in a chaotic final of stage 17 to take the win. "After we passed the flamme rouge, I intended to set up Heinrich Haussler for the sprint but we were seperated during the fight for a perfect position. I moved up to the front of the peleton right before the final corner to chase after Pozatto who had managed to escape. When I closed the gap to Pozatto, I realised that the peleton was too far back, so I gave it my all to the finish line," explained an ecstatic Kluge after the stage. "This win is especially emotional after the announcement that the Team will fold at the end of the season." Kluge commented on the biggest win in the Team's history. The Giro d'Italia is in its last week and will end on Sunday with the 21st stage to Torino.
