SCOTT Sports Race to the Podium at Mountain Mayhem
Following a week of torrential rain and inevitable mud baths, the SCOTT UK teams took to the road and drove south for Eastnor Castle Deer Park for the annual 24 hour Mountain Mayhem, which brings thousands of riders together to take on the course in teams or if you're brave enough, solo!
Last year saw great success with podium wins and we were hoping for the same again, but the event isn't just about winning, it's far more about the team spirit and having fun in what would be the worst conditions that Nick Craig had certainly seen in 15 years!

Because of the sheer amount of rain, there was risk of serious flooding, so jet washing was a little tricky, but thanks to the Nomad washers, the team were set; a round-the-clock food station, fantastic caravans courtesy of Bailey of Bristol and top class mechanics from the SCOTT UK HQ meant that the Mixed Elite and Contessa teams were well looked after.

Riding for the mixed was Katy Simcock, who rode some incredible laps, alongside Dan Fleeman, Neil Crampton and Nick Craig. The Contessa girls included Gabby Day, Caroline Goward, Nicky Hughes and Beth Crumpton, who was riding it for the first year and in the worst possible conditions!).

An awesome race was had by all; the odd mechanical and puncture in there just to add some tension and pressure and lots of mud, more mud and evn more mud (and plenty rain!) to keep it testy and filthy.
Finishing at 12 midday on Sunday, Nick and Gabby rode a brilliant last lap each to take home the 2nd place Mixed Elite place and the Women's Open 1st place. Gabby dug deep (literally with all the mud!) and Nick had time for a few press ups to work those arm muscles!

Back at HQ, the journey continued as the jet wash saw another day to bring the SCOTT kit back to new...
A huge congratulations to all that took part and to our outstanding teams!
