Metaltek SCOTT in the Halford’s Tour Series

The opening round of the Halfords Tour Series began this week in Kirkcaldy, Scotland in surprisingly good weather. The high profile inner city race series is always fast and exciting and a well-supported event. Metaltek SCOTT was out in force, riding FOIL, Vanish and SCOTT road shoes. Marcel Six had power in the legs as he took the yellow sprint jersey and title on the day.

Metaltek-SCOTT rider Marcel Six started the evening well by taking maximum points in the first Boardman Bikes Sprint, which is a series long competition. The next set of points was taken up by three breakaway riders, but Marcel took third place in the final sprint of the evening to take the overall Boardman Bikes Sprint Jersey.

Both Marcel and Tom Barras managed to stay in the leading bunch of around twenty riders, with Tom even taking a tumble before regaining contact with the main bunch.

Metaltek-SCOTT is sixth in the overall team competition after the first event.
