Triple Bet

September 2018

“The Ransom climbs like an XC bike and descends like a DH one. It starts with a very good and balanced position, a suitable handlebar height and a vertical seat tube at 75º (effective angle, no real angle) that places us on the bottom bracket and the front wheel to pedal with a better disposition for steep climbs. (…)

“The Twinloc works its magic and with a thumb hit activates the Traction Control mode, which reduces the air chamber and hardens compression to lift the rear suspension, positioning yourself in front to climb with great efficiency. (…)

“When the descent arrives, a new pulsation in the Twinloc to release the system and all its capacity. The absorption of the rear suspension is simply extraordinary. The first few centimeters are immediately sensitive, making (small) bumps and part of the means disappear (literally). The 170 mm seems to never end, it is one of the most alive, active and gentle suspensions we have tried in recent months. Despite its linear tendency, it keeps a slight progressivity at the end to which we can add the option to make it more progressive just by moving a lever. This option will be mostly suitable for the more aggressive riders, who may demand greater support. For the rest of us, who practice Enduro a step or two below the professional level, the configuration is ideal. This tremendous absorption is supported by a solid and absorbent frame, which mitigates violent reactions, and great 29" wheels with triple compound 3C tires, resulting in an ability to descend through really technical and broken sections with an incredible feeling of control and safety. The Ransom is the Enduro bike with the best pedaling quality of today, marking a new historic milestone in the world of Enduro, as the first Scott Ransom did in 2006.“
