- When focusing on resort laps and big freeride descents, you need gear that supports your flow rather than disrupts it. The Scott Flow Mips® is a lightweight ski helmet that combines protective features with all-day comfort. This Mips® ski helmet pairs adjustable top vents with Anti-Fog Ventilation to help regulate airflow, reduce goggle fog buildup, and let you stay focused. In the ear pads, 360° Pure Sound Technology allows you to hear better and localize sound more accurately. The integrated Mips® safety system improves impact protection, while a height-adjustable dial provides a secure fit wherever you ride.

MIPS® Safety System
The brain is typically more sensitive to rotational motion than linear motion because it has shear properties similar to water or gel. When different parts of the brain move relative to each other because of rotational motion, the tissues can stretch, which can cause concussions or other brain injuries.
Rotational motion is a common cause of concussions and more severe brain injury in oblique hits to the head. The Mips® safety system consists of a low friction layer mounted inside the helmet. In a crash, the low friction layer is designed to move slightly inside the helmet to help redirect forces away from the head. This is intended to help reduce the risk of brain injury.
A SAFETY SYSTEM THAT MIMICS THE BRAIN
Unlike traditional helmets, which are mainly designed and tested for straight impacts, the Mips® safety system’s low-friction layer mimics the brain’s own system for protection against rotational motion.
STRAIGHT VS ANGLED IMPACTS
Traditional helmets are designed for straight impacts, but most impacts are angled.
The low friction layer is designed to reduce the rotational force of angled impacts.

This is why we have invested in R&D to develop 360° Pure Sound technology, a specifically-shaped inner piece in our ear pads, surrounded by sound transparent fabric. It not only let you hear better, but also localize sound more accurately.
