Cameron Jones wins Unbound Gravel in record setting time

01 June 2025

How the race was won

Cameron Jones joined the breakaway at mile 50 and never took his foot off the gas until crossing the finish line 150 miles later. Cam not only left the pro field in the dust but set a new course record, crushing the 9-hour barrier with a final time of 8:37:09.

Cam bridged to an early move from the leading group and rolled over the top of them to join Simon Pellaud off the front of the race. The two riders decided to push on around mile 50 and quickly gained a minute and a half heading into the first Feed Zone. Safely through the feed, the two athletes worked together, stretching their lead to over 8 minutes at one point. Cam took up much of the pace making in the final miles of the race and rode away from his breakaway companion on the final climb for a solo journey down the finish line.

Going for the long-range attack was a risky move - with his Grant Prix wildcard spot on the line - but in true Cam Jones fashion, he could not help but go for the win!

Wildcard secured

Cam headed to Unbound looking to punch his ticket for a wildcard spot in the Lifetime Grand Prix. After placing 12th at Sea Otter Gravel, Cam was sitting on the bubble in 3rd.

After taking the win at the world's biggest Gravel event, we can confidently say that Cam secured his wildcard spot, and he will take this momentum into the rest of the Grand Prix series. Next stop, Leadville.

Cam’s Addict Gravel RC performed flawlessly in the Flint Hills of Emporia, Kansas. With no mechanical issues and the bike working perfectly, he was able to concentrate on turning the pedals and navigating the terrain in the two-man breakaway.
