MOTOCROSS MXGP OF SWITZERLAND 2016
GP15: SWITZERLAND (Frauenfeld) - Double win for American Darian Sanayei
Switzerland was finally back at the calendar of the FIM Motocross World Championship this weekend in Frauenfeld; it was a great event, which offered some great racing in both classes on a brand new track.
Once more it’s in the European classes that the Scott riders achieved their best results, with a strong double win for young American Darian Sanayei who dominates the EMX250 while Finn Kim Savaste finished runner up in the European 125 final round of the series.

Fastest rider in the MX2 free practice period, Dylan Ferrandis unfortunately ended his GP season this weekend, as he broke his right arm when another rider hit him on a jump during the timed practice period; the Frenchman underwent surgery in the night. In the MXGP class Italian veteran Antonio Cairoli got his third win of the season, while Jordi Tixier enjoyed his best result of the season with a seventh position. “I’m a little bit frustrated by the final result, as I had a great feeling with this track this weekend and posted some good results in the practice session, but I struggled at the starts and we all know that it’s impossible to get a good result without a good start. I was between tenth and fifteenth each time; we need to work with the team to find solutions as it’s the part of the puzzle that is missing at the moment to get top five results. I had good lap times in the races; I posted the second fastest lap in the first race, and as I have no more pain or troubles with my wrist I remain confident for the rest of the season. It was a great event with many fans, a good promotion for our sport,” he said. Team mate Clement Desalle did a strong opening race with a third position, but crashed twice in race two and missed a podium result.
The series entered a three weeks break, and will be back end of August in Assen (Netherlands)
