Marcel Wildhaber, who has been riding for SCOTT-Swisspower since 2009, has his roots in cyclocross. Though he is well capable of riding himself into World Cup Top Tens, he had never won a medal at a championship. he can ride into top ten in the world cup, trough his entire career he never won a medal at championships. Finally, he launched his long awaited coup by winning the Eliminator Nationals.
With a strong attack in the finale, he left last year’s champion Thomas Litscher behind to not only take the title, but to win that long awaited medal. The tragic accident seven months ago that took the life of his father is not forgotten yet. The victory was followed by a very emotional ceremony with the national anthem. There was someone missing in this special moment of Marcel’s career, but we could all feel that this someone was watching proudly from above.
Just as exciting was Sunday's cross country race. As Nino lives only a few kilometers away from the Lenzerheide ski resort, he wanted to put in good show for his fans.
