SCOTT rider Geoff Kabush won the Downieville Classic in Downieville, California. Riding a Spark 900, he clocked fastest times in both the Saturday XC and the Sunday DH to earn the All Mountain champion title.
“It’s a fun challenge to find the right compromise and set-up that gets you around the XC course quickly as well as survive down the classic DH course,” said Geoff. “Thankfully the new SCOTT Spark 900 seems like the perfect set-up to me. It has a little more travel, little slacker angles, and a dropper post added compared to my racier Spark RC.”
This weekend event, held since 1995, bills itself as the “All Mountain World Championships.” It features a cross-country on Saturday and a downhill on Sunday. Riders have to use the same bike for both events to potentially be crowned All Mountain Champion, a title awarded based on a point system for placings in each event. But Geoff rode his Spark 900 to post the fastest times in both events and earn the undisputed champion ranking!
