Scott Donates Bike to Norcal High School Cycling League
Scott Sports donates a Scott Scale mountain bike to Norcal High School Cycling League Development Camp. The 6th annual camp was held in Mendocino, California for 5 weeks during June, 2017. The beautiful redwood forest made for a perfect place for 50 lucky high school students to hone their mountain biking skills. The objective of the camp was to develop a passion for mountain biking in order to create a lifelong commitment to a lifestyle that leads to a healthy body and mind. The Norcal High School Cycling League is a Chapter League of the NICA, National Interscholastic Cycling Association.
The winner of the Scott Scale mountain bike was chosen by the following criteria: the camper that was an amazing team player, put others first, helped out where needed, and is stoked on mountain biking and was determined to learn from the staff. Elizabeth showed these characteristics and more, and was an easy choice to win the Scott Scale mountain bike.
Here is what Elizabeth had to say:
Dear Scott Sports,I would just like to say thank you so much for the bike that I was given at the Mendocino Development Camp. When they first gave it to me, I think I sort of almost started crying since I was so excited to get a hardtail and couldn't believe it was really mine. I still can't believe that it is really mine. I love riding it and am super excited to race with it next season without worrying about the drive train not working or having to put my dad's brakes on my bike the night before we leave for the race! Or worrying about that weird creaking noise in the front fork!
The lockout on the front fork is so cool and I use it a lot!! I didn't really know that bikes could shift that easily! The green on it also matches my team jersey which is perfect. On the way home from camp, I got to ride it for the second time on the Paradise Royale trail near Shelter cove. Here are some pictures from the ride. I'm still getting used to it on the downhill since my old bike had 26" tires and this on has 29", plus I'm not the best at downhill, but I'm sure it won't take long. I think it's really amazing that you guys are so generous. I don't really know how to say thank you enough!
Thanks,
Elizabeth
