Clement Desalle won his Home-GP in Bastogne

For the first time in his career, Belgian Clement Desalle won his first ever Home-GP, and collected in Bastogne his third MX1 GP win this season, the second in a row after his success in Czech Republic two weeks ago. In the MX2 class, Jordi Tixier confirmed with a second position his rank in the standings.

For the second year in a row Bastogne met the Belgian GP, and the Belgian fans came there to support their national hero who didn’t miss this opportunity to win another GP. Second of the opening race very close from Cairoli, the Suzuki rider got the lead early in the second heat and went to a clean victory as he beats Cairoli by twenty two seconds. "I'm really happy to win my home GP, it was really nice but this is also emotional because I have never won a Belgian GP before. It was so nice in front of that public; at the same time there is a lot of pressure but it was cool to win and I really enjoyed it. I pushed to catch Antonio in the first moto and tried everything to win. There were not many options to pass so on the last lap I tried to change my line and go inside but it was not easy after that jump and I crashed. I could still take second and told myself the GP was there to win. In the second moto I made an early and clean pass to take the lead and I wanted it until the end. With a few laps to go I saw I had a big gap and just controlled it until the end. I'm confident for the next two races and I feel fit and ready to win more GPs!" revealed Clement who beats Cairoli and Russian Bobryshev.

In the MX2 class the new World Champion was forced to miss the event, as he damaged his shoulder on Saturday when he crashed during the qualifying race. Australian Dean Ferris didn’t miss this opportunity to win his first ever GP, beating Jordi Tixier and Dutch Coldenhoff. “It was pretty tough because there were many stones, but I never gave up and it was probably one of the hardest race of my life,” said Jordi who secured his runner up position in the standings.

Young teenager Maxime Desprey leads most of the first heat, and secured his best ever result with a seventh position overall. All the riders will now move in Great Britain, home of the penultimate race of the season next weekend.
