GP11: GREAT BRITAIN (Matterley Basin) - Podium for Ferrandis
Dylan Ferrandis claimed his fourth podium of the season this weekend in Matterley Basin, UK, with a second position behind World Championship leader Jeffrey Herlings. Young Scott Athletes also enjoyed the podium ceremonies, as Stephen Rubini won the 125 European class while European 250 leaders Thomas Kjer Olsen and Darian Sanayei both got a podium result.Missing the podium in Spain and France, Dylan Ferrandis finally got his fourth podium of the season in Matterley Basin. Racing his 7th Grand Prix due to his shoulder injury, the young Frenchman finished twice runner up this weekend. “It was great to be back on the podium as I missed it at the last two GPs. I had a good feeling with the track this weekend; here it was possible to make the difference with the other riders. It’s just a shame that my starts were not better as I would like to race with Jeffrey,” said Dylan who is now back in sixth position in the standings.
In the Euro 125 Stephen Rubini got his third win of the season; second and first of the races, Rubini will try next weekend to reduce the gap of eleven points with series leader Geerts. In the Euro MX2 Danish Thomas Kjer Olsen got another podium, scoring a third position behind Darian Sanayei who finished tight in the points with local rider Clarke. Olsen and Sanayei are currently first and second in the standings, with three races to go.
The championships will continue next weekend in Mantova, Italy
