Tom Vialle Wins 2020 MX2 World Championship

06 November 2020

SCOTT Athlete Tom Vialle triumphantly clinched the MX2 World Title at the MXGP of Pietramurata in Arco di Trento, Italy on Wednesday.

With one round of the 2020 MXGP championship still to go, SCOTT’s Tom Vialle has claimed victory to the prestigious MX2 crown.

A win in the first moto on Wednesday was enough to secure the points needed for Tom to wrap up the championship before the second gat drop.tom-vialle-1768088

After dominating the season with 13 moto wins, 20 holeshots and 13 podiums so far this season, the 20-year-old Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team rider has shown incredible skill and maturity throughout the highly unusual 2020 championship.

Event cancelations, multi-stop locations and Covid-19 rules didn’t phase the Frenchman, who managed to keep a cool head and remain consistent, focused and a force to be reckoned with throughout one of the strangest MXGP seasons in history.vialla-1768089

Tom Vialle: “I’m so happy but there have been a lot of emotions today. I was a bit angry with the verdict this morning but to make the holeshot and lead the first moto was fantastic. I was almost crying on the last lap. There was so much emotion. It was really special. Crazy. I want to say a big thanks to the whole team and everybody who worked together to make this happen. It was tiring to have a lot of races so close together and also keep the concentration through the training. I think we did it pretty good.”

Following on from his former team-mate Jorge Prado’s success last year, Vialle has further strengthened the success of the partnership between SCOTT and the MX2 Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team.

We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge congratulations to Tom on behalf of the entire team here at SCOTT. Well done mate!tom-vialle-1768087
