As always the 2016 FIM Motocross of Nations was a huge event, with some drama on the traditional and historical track of Maggiora (Italy). No less than 38 countries came and joined this national team race followed by 85000 excited spectators throughout the weekend.After their two successes in Latvia and France in the past editions, the French Team added a third consecutive win after one crazy final race.
The final GP of the season is over, and now everyone is focused on the next Motocross of Nations, scheduled in two weeks’ time in Maggiora (Italy). In Glen Helen Jeffrey Herlings won the last MX2 GP of his career, while American Eli Tomac won his second MXGP in a row.
For the first time in its history, the famous Nascar facility of Charlotte (North Carolina) met one round of the FIM Motocross World Championship on a new venue designed in the speedway arena. It was a great opportunity for some top US riders to join the series, and young talent Austin Forkner was one of the GP heroes, celebrating his first GP podium in his first ever attempt.
Clement Desalle celebrates in Assen his first GP win of the season, in a tremendous round of the MXGP World Championship. Heavy rain on Sunday morning ruined the track especially built for this event, but the Belgian did two strong races to collect this GP win. In the MX2 class, new talent Jorge Prado got his first ever MX2 podium in what was only his first experience at this level!

Switzerland was finally back at the calendar of the FIM Motocross World Championship this weekend in Frauenfeld; it was a great event, which offered some great racing in both classes on a brand new track.
Danish Thomas Kjer Olsen claimed this weekend in Lommel (Belgium) the European 250 title, during the penultimate round of the series before Switzerland next Sunday. In the MX2 Grand Prix, Bulgarian Petar Petrov got his first podium of the season.
Dylan Ferrandis claimed in Czech Republic his second GP win, as the young Frenchman dominates both races to celebrate his first win this season in the MX2 World Championship. With Petar Petrov in fifth position, and both Clement Desalle and Jordi Tixier in the top six of the MXGP class, it was a good weekend for the Scott Athletes.
Clement Desalle enjoyed in Mantova the podium celebration for the first time since eleven months, coming back from several injuries to offer to his team a nice podium. In the MX2 class Dylan Ferrandis got his fifth podium of the season, while Stephen Rubini and Thomas Kjer Olsen again won the European 125 and 250 races.
