New Additions To Our Wintersport Team

17 December 2014

Throughout the years, SCOTT has established itself as a world renowned Freeski brand with a passionate team from all around the world. For the 14/15 season, our international SCOTT family will grow with four new members. We are extremely happy to announce that we are starting the winter season with one of the most international and strongest teams ever seen in SCOTT wintersport history.

Our new American addition comes from Salt Lake City, Utah and his name is Sam Cohen. He is a skier with many skills and loves all kinds of mountains, from steep skiing to deep powder backcountry skiing. During the upcoming season he will mostly be skiing and filming in Alaska with Stellar Adventure Media. Watch out for some bad ass skiing movies from this guy! To follow Sam, click here!

We also have a new girl on the SCOTT team- Janina Kuzma from Wanaka, New Zealand. With strong performances both in Freestyle and on the big mountain she is one of the world`s most versatile female skiers at the moment. During this recent “down under” winter she won both the pipe and big mountain events at the New Zealand Freeski Open, which is a 3 star Freeride World Tour Qualifier event. Last week she also won the Half Pipe Grand Prix World Cup at Copper Mountain in the US, while during the same week she also placed fourth in the Dew Tour Final in Breckenridge. Janina is defiantly in good shape at the moment, and she will be a serious threat to the other girls on this year`s Freeride World Tour. To learn more about Janina, visit her website!

Our third addition, Juan Bergada, comes all the way from Argentina, but is spending most of his winters in Arlberg, Austria. Juan is one of the few South Americans on the Freeride World Tour this season and he is also one of the few guys that has a past competing at Freeride World Tour Qualifers both in North America and Europe. Juan is always in the mountains, if he is not skiing, in the summer he will then be in his climbing gear instead. With his knowledge of the mountains and skiing style, he will for sure be one to watch out for this winter. Go on to Juan`s page to read more about him!

The fourth and last new team member is also the youngest in the team. Marco Ladner was born in 1998 and comes straight from the famous Austrian town Ischgl. With a great result in the pipe at the Olympic Games in Sochi, this guy is defiantly someone with a very bright skiing future; we are looking forward to following you, Marco! Learn more about what kind of skier Marco is, here!

Being up in the mountains can be both mentally and physically constraining and if you don`t know what you are doing it can be a very dangerous place if you are unlucky. It takes years of training and the skill to always push yourself to be successful. If you want to read more about what it takes to be a professional freeride skier, you will be able to follow them during the season at www.momentsofsport.com/freeride.
