Nino Schurter's Cape Epic Special Edition SCOTT Spark RC World Cup
The untamed Cape Epic is a true challenge not only for the riders, but also for their equipment. Bikes are challenged with the harshest conditions you can imagine throughout the 8-day race.
Technical single trails alternating with fast passages on fire roads, suddenly ending in inhospitable steep and rocky climbs, and strong winds that whirl up the sandy ground and subject riders and their equipment to a constant sandblasting treatment, all pose a real challenge for the mechanics.

The amount of work that SCOTT-SRAM team mechanic Yanick Gyger and his colleague Kurt Gross must put into the bikes varies from day to day, depending on the conditions, and can range from basic maintenance work to complete disassembly.
At Cape Epic, the team will be riding the SCOTT Spark RC World Cup in a special stage race setup, complete with all the small details to make the bike fit the demanding conditions only a race like Cape Epic has to offer.
These Spark RCs come with a very special setup featuring RockShox SID Ultimate, SRAM XX1 Eagle AXS Drivetrain, the new wider Syncros Silverton SL (30mm) carbon wheels, Fraser iC SL combo, and even a lighter version of the Tofino saddle saving 50g.
