It's an invitation to enjoy the ride and not just the destination.
Feel the rhythm of the city by bike. Savor each moment.
Hear the buzz of bees in springtime. Notice the birds when stopped at a red light.
Let the sun warm your skin. Feel the wind in your hair.
Welcome the rain on your face. Let the crisp winter air invigorate you.
Pause at a cafe along the way. Breathe in the scent of freshly baked bread. Let curiosity guide you.

All Your Questions Answered.
Urban E-Bike Frequently Asked Questions.
How do electric bikes work?
An electric bike has a motor (hub or mid-drive), which is powered by a lithium battery.
On your SCOTT electric bike, there is a Bosch control unit on the handlebar. Using this display, you can turn the bike on and switch between different support modes. On the display, you can check estimated battery range in each support mode and explore many other functions.
As you begin to pedal, sensors detect your input, and the motor boosts your pedaling power. On SCOTT urban E-Bikes, the Bosch motors will support up to 25km/h.
How do I register an E-Bike for warranty?
At SCOTT, you can extend your warranty from the standard 3 years to a total of 5 years when you register your E-Bike (see our warranty policy page for more details). To do this, you will need your bike serial number, which is located on the down tube of the frame. Click the link below and follow the easy step-by-step instructions.
The extension of the warranty period applies only if your E-Bike is serviced at least once per year by an authorized SCOTT dealer.
Which urban E-Bike should I choose? What’s the best model for commuting?
At SCOTT, we believe the best urban E-Bike is the one that fits your lifestyle.
The battery, motor, drivetrain, and frame design define how the bike feels, performs, and supports your everyday riding.
Battery & Motor — Power vs. Weight
Think about how far you ride and how much support you really need.
- Larger batteries and more powerful motors give you more assistance, longer range and better support for big loads or steep hills. Discover the powerful SCOTT SUB E-Bikes and the more versatile SCOTT Axis E-Bikes.
- Smaller batteries and motor systems are less powerful, but lighter, more efficient and ideal for shorter city trips or flatter terrain. Discover the lightweight SCOTT Passage E-Bikes.
Drivetrain — Maintenance vs. Gear Range
- Choose a belt drive and internal gear hub if you want low maintenance: the SCOTT Passage 10 or the SCOTT SUB Tour E‑Bikes.
- Opt for a rear derailleur with multiple gearing options if you live in a hillier area with steep roads: the SCOTT Passage 20 the SCOTT SUB Sport or the SCOTT Axis E-Bikes.
Frame Design — Comfort & Confidence
There are two frame options at SCOTT. The first option is a Wave frame, which makes getting on and off easier, especially for stop-and-go city riding. The second option offers a more sporty, dynamic riding position.
What is the difference between the SCOTT SUB and SCOTT Passage E-Bikes? Which one is right for me?
If you are looking for a lightweight bike and efficient city riding, SCOTT Passage E-Bikes are your best match.
If you are looking for more power, more range, and more carrying capacity, SCOTT SUB E-Bikes will be the optimal choice.
What is the realistic riding range of an electric bike?
The range of an E-Bike (how far you can ride on a full battery) depends on many factors: battery size (Watt hours), assist level in use, steepness of the terrain, bike and rider weight, outside temperature, etc. The Bosch displays on SCOTT urban E-Bikes typically show the bike's estimated remaining range.
As SCOTT urban E-Bikes are equipped with Bosch motors and batteries, you can use the Bosch Range Calculator to get a realistic idea of how far your battery will get you. Select the battery and motor type, then play around with other use scenarios to see the expected range.
How long does an E-Bike battery last and how do I care for it?
The lifespan of an electric bike battery is typically 500-600+ full charge cycles, depending on usage, temperature, and storage.
Follow these best practices to extend the life of your E-Bike battery:
- Avoid full discharges
- Store partially charged in a cool, dry place
- Use a damp cloth to clean and avoid high-pressure washing
- Only use compatible chargers
- Take it to a specialist dealer for regular checks
What size E-Bike should I choose?
When choosing an E-Bike frame size, consider your height, weight and riding style.
On each SCOTT E-Bike product page, there is a sizing chart as well as the Fit Finder tool. You can follow the steps in this tool, entering your riding style, height, arm and leg measurements to get a personalized size recommendation.
Additionally, authorized SCOTT dealers have a wealth of experience when it comes to helping you choose the right frame size. Our dealerships will be able to guide you in your E-Bike purchase process.
How much does an E‑Bike weigh?
The weight of a SCOTT urban E‑Bike can be found in the list of specifications on its corresponding website product page.
The weight of an E-Bike depends largely on the frame design, motor type, and battery size. If having a lighter city E-Bike is important for you, opt for a bike with a smaller battery and less powerful motor (like the SCOTT Passage 10). If power and range are more important to you, opt for a bike with a bigger battery and motor (like the SCOTT SUB Sport models).
Are electric bikes legal? What are the rules for city riding?
Electric bikes (also called E-Bikes or pedelecs) are road‑legal for everyday city use in most countries if they comply with the following criteria:
- Support only up to 25 km/h (15.5mph)
- Are pedal‑assist only
As SCOTT urban E-Bikes are pedal-assisted up to 25km/h, they are considered legal.
For your own safety, it is strongly recommended to follow local road regulations and to wear a helmet when riding any kind of bicycle.
