Kevin Pearce wins Oakley Arctic Challenge

Pearce best at Norwegian event

A mass of Norwegian spectators witnessed another groundbreaking day in snowboarding at the TTR FIVE(5)STAR Oakley Arctic Challenge 2007. In a super final consisting of only Americans and Norwegians, riders from the two nations battled it out against each other for the win.

It was Kevin Pearce of the U.S. who showed the most amplitude and trick variety to claim the title ahead of local superstar Henning Marthinsen (NOR) and third place rider Pat Moore (USA). Jake Blauvelt (USA) took home the "Highest Air of the Day" title with an impressive 9.4m backside air, just short of the new World record set by the legendary Terje Haakonsen (NOR) earlier in the competition.

With his win, Kevin Pearce (USA) is now leading the TTR World Tour Rankings presented by SWATCH, with Louri Podladtchikov (RUS) at in the TTR World #2 spot, and Henning Marthinsen (NOR) at the TTR World #3 spot.
