Tim Russell at Icer Air
For the third consecutive year some of the world's best skiers and snowboarders have convened in San Francisco to attend one of the largest contests in the biz, the Icer Air. Over 30,000 people came to Giant's stadium to watch these athletes throw their best tricks on Icer's best jump to date. The massive jump rose over 100 feet off the ground and was blanketed by approximately 100 tons of snow.

The prelims got underway and Scott USA athlete Tim Russell was stomping Cab 7s thorugh the qualifiers but just missed making the cut for the finals. Tanner Rainville, Simon Dumont, and Peter Olenick were all representing Scott USA poles in the comp. It was clear from the start who would come out on top. Simon landed what has become his signature double front, followed by a cab cork 10, but he couldn't take down Sweden's Jon Olsson with his signature Kangaroo Flip.

Icer Air not only hosted the Big Air comp but some great night life as well, including a concert with Talib Kweli and Mos Def. All in all, Icer was a huge success and athletes were much happier with the jump this year. It's a pretty good bet that everyone is already looking forward to next year!
