SCOTT Athletes at Anaheim 2 Supercross

23 janvier 2013

The 2013 supercross season continued its action-packed this past weekend in Anaheim, CA for round three of the Monster Energy Supercross Series.

450 SX Class

Trey Canard

After a disappointing fall in Phoenix last weekend, 450 SX contender and SCOTT goggle athlete Trey Canard was ready to get back in the mix and fight for that number one spot.  Once again, Trey was able to race his way to a second place finish in his heat race, giving him a competitive gate selection going into the main event.  Trey got out to a great start and was able to lead for 4 laps before relinquishing the number one spot and settling into a solid second place finish.  Canard's consistent start to the season has him just 3 points out of the points lead and well in contention for the 2013 Supercross Championship.

Andrew Short

SCOTT goggle athlete Andrew Short was also on the line again for the 450 SX main event.  After qualifying 9th out of the heat races, Andrew put down some great laps that would eventually lead him to a 7th place finish when the race was all said and done.  Short is now sitting in 7th in the overall 450 Supercross standings and looks to carry over his consistent finishes into the next round in Oakland.

Matt Lemoine

The SCOTT Sports-backed JAB Motorsports team was ready to see SCOTT athlete Matt Lemoine make it 3 for 3 in qualifying for the main event and improving his overall finish this weekend.  Matt would qualify directly out of the heat race with a 7th place finish and would line up on the gate for the main event for the third time in his rookie 450 campaign.  Misfortune would strike in the main event and Matt would be unable to finish the race.  In his first year on the 450, Lemoine is 17th in the championship standings.

250 SX Class

Martin Davalos

SCOTT goggle athletes Tyla Rattray and Martin Davalos of Pro Circuit Kawasaki came into round 3 looking to build on a good showing in Phoenix last weekend.  After a third place finish last week, Davalos started his night out right with a holeshot in his heat race and had a great battle for the lead with Ryan Sipes.  He was pushed back to third after an aggressive last corner pass right before the checkered flag by Jason Anderson.

Tyla Rattray

SCOTT goggle athlete Tyla Rattray had a mid-pack start in his heat race and was able to work his way up to 6th place and get a direct transfer to the main.  Poor starts for both Davalos and Rattray lead to a hard-fought main event for both riders and when the checkers flew on the 250 SX main event, it was Rattray pulling off a top ten ride with an 8th and Davalos crossing the finish in 12th place.  Tyla Rattray now sits in 6th place overall in the point standings and Martin Davalos has dropped back to 10th overall.

Dakota Tedder

SCOTT goggle athletes Dakota Tedder and Dillan Epstein both qualified for their first main event this weekend in Anaheim, qualifying directly out of their heat races.  In the main event, Dakota rode consistently to a 14th place finish and Epstein put in another great ride, finishing in 16th in the highly competitive 250 SX class.

Dylan Epstein

The 2013 Monster Energy Supercross SEries will head north to Oakland, California next weekend where the gate will drop on round four of seventeen.  See you there!
